Siloam Springs, ARK. — Main Street Siloam Springs is pleased to announce that Lauren Huffman has been hired as Downtown Development & Promotions Director. The part-time position was recently vacated by Morgan Scholz, who served in that role since October 2013 and is leaving to pursue her Masters in English Composition and Rhetoric at the University of Arkansas. Mrs. Scholz plans to remain involved as a volunteer with the organization.
Lauren comes to Main Street Siloam Springs with strong experience in event planning and communications. She has most recently worked at John Brown University (JBU) in the Admission office as Assistant Director of Admissions. Originally from Texas and Missouri, Lauren is a public relations graduate of JBU. “Siloam Springs has become my home, and I desire to see downtown continue to grow. I’m glad for the opportunity to work with a great team to further that goal,” she explains of the position.
Lauren will work closely with executive director Meredith Bergstrom, the Main Street Board of Directors, and downtown business owners to plan and promote Main Street Siloam Springs’ yearly calendar of events, as well as working to develop resources for the organization and coordinate volunteer service.
“Main Street Siloam Springs is a passionate fan of downtown Siloam Springs, and that is an easy job because of so much momentum and growth in the downtown historic area. We are thrilled to add Lauren to our team, and confident that her skills will serve our organization well,” explains Meredith Bergstrom.
