Did you know that Siloam Springs has a Downtown Farmers Market? We do! In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, good ole Bill Shakespeare penned the phrase “Though she be but little, she is fierce!” Shakespeare would have said the same thing, had he the opportunity to shop our market. The Siloam Springs Farmers Market boasts an online market as well as a pop up open-air market in the heart of Downtown Siloam Springs, where the community enjoys fresh local fare every Tuesday and Saturday.
Our meek but mighty Farmers Market started in 1997 and has continued to meet from April through October each year. Since the inception of the market, dedicated Siloam Springs community members have worked together to build a network of farmers, artisans, and vendors to provide uncomplicated and honest food and products.
As the Eat Local! movement gained momentum so did the enthusiasm of the Siloam Springs community to procure food grown by people they know and trust. Main Street Siloam Springs hosts the Siloam Springs Farmers Market as an extension of our mission. Creating a strong local food culture that informs the underpinnings of the Main Street Siloam Springs mission statement of economic development and historic preservation is vital to the success of our community. Our Farmers Market is just one way that Siloam Springs Downtown creates an inviting atmosphere for visitors while contributing to downtown development.
Our 2015 market is our best yet! We are able to provide a variety of options. Some of which are:
- local and wild harvested produce
- baked goods
- jams and jellies
- Pastured meats & free range eggs
- Local cheese
Over the next 6 weeks we will be featuring recipes, tips, and highlights about our market . If you aren’t already in love with our market you will be! We hope you’ll stay tuned and give us your feedback.
See you at the Market!
